Advanced Digital Art & Design
This course is designed for Advanced DIGITAL ARTISTS and Advanced DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHERS!!
In Advanced Digital Imaging learn more advanced digital art techniques and digital photography techniques. You will have ample opportunity to explore your digital medium of choice and create a portfolio of work in your specific area of interest!
Recommended prerequisite: Imaging or Digital Photography
Are you interested in adding advanced pieces to your digital art portfolio? Interested in becoming a professional graphic designer or professional photographer? This course will further expand upon digital art skills learned in Imaging class. Using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator learn advanced skills and techniques to create stunning digital artworks. This course will include both designing and creating for the world of digital fine art and commercial art. Go deeper into photo manipulation, vector design, corporate branding, illustration, digital painting, and much more! Along with instruction in advanced techniques, students will have ample time to pursue individual interests and build a professional digital art portfolio.
Students will use photography, image manipulation and digital drawing tablets in this project-based class. Advanced Digital Art & Design is designed for students who are interested in developing art from a digital perspective, or who are interested in graphic design.
Because of the project-based nature of the class, students will be able to learn at their own pace and create meaningful pieces to add to their portfolios.
Projects may include: Poster design series, vector illustration, corporate branding design, advertisements, digital painting, typographic designs, advanced photo compositing techniques, advanced vector illustrations and much more.
This course is open to any individual interested in learning about digital art!

Are you interested in becoming a professional photographer? Are you fascinated by the world around you? Interested in building an advanced digital photography portfolio? This course will further expand upon digital photography and editing skills learned in ROP Photo Imaging or F/A Digital Photography class. Using digital SLR cameras learn advanced camera techniques to capture amazing shots and create stunning photographs. Go deeper into understanding all your camera settings, how to use natural lighting and studio lighting to take your photos to the next level, and creative photo techniques. You will also advance your photo editing and manipulation skills with Adobe Photoshop. Learn advanced techniques to boost your photos and take them to a professional level. Along with instruction in advanced techniques, students will have ample time to pursue individual interests and build a professional digital photography portfolio.
Students will build upon skills learned in F/A Digital Photography, advancing their skills with exposure control, creative camera techniques, and Photoshop techniques. This will include the study of art theory concepts such as the elements of art, principles of design, composition, lighting, camera handling techniques, commercial applications in photography, current trends in photography, and photography related careers.
Because of the project-based nature of the class, students will be able to learn at their own pace and create meaningful pieces to add to their portfolios.
Possible projects include: Independent focus work, long exposure techniques, macro photography, photo alterations, landscape photography, abstract photography, and light painting photography. Students may also pursue commercial photography including advertising, product photography, sports and portrait photography.
